Many years ago, I was frustrated and could not see a future for myself. I was stuck in a relationship that was anything else but nurturing. We had nothing left to say to each other. All that happened was blame, control and verbal abuse. For me, it seemed normal, even though I knew I was not happy and I did not want to continue like that.
But, listening to the crowd and the common thoughts and beliefs that had been passed on to me of how I was growing up, I told myself this: ?You chose to marry which means, your life is sealed. You entered this relationship, saying in good and in bad times and this is how it is?.
So, my Self Talk became what was valid many, many years ago. I was taking on my mother?s thought and belief patterns that she had been brought up with.
My life was filled with
- Unhappiness with the life I had
- Despair, thinking there was no way out
- Blame, not being responsible for the situation I found myself in
- Being the Victim, externalising the responsibility
- Complaining, about my whole life
- Frustrated, that I ended up getting to this point
- Having a Block in front of my fore head that didn?t allow me to see past it, so there was no future laid out for me.
!!!! AND THEN I MADE A DECISION !!!!
I decided that
- Enough was Enough!!!!!!
- Something had to change !!!!!!!
- I would take control over my life
- I would map out a plan for my future
- I would take action and follow through on my plan, no matter how terrified I was
- I would get through this despite of all the odds of having to create my own income and finding a place where to live with my children
- I would stop the pattern that was running in my family
- I would once again stand up for myself
- I was prepared to FIGHT, to FIGHT FOR MY FUTURE, MY CHILDREN?S FUTURE
- I was prepared to FIGHT, to FIGHT FOR MY HAPPINESS, MY CHILDREN?S HAPPINESS
- I was going to be a great role model for my children, living my life listening to my HEART?S AND SOUL?S DESIRE
- I was going to create the STAGE FOR MY SOUL, A STAGE OF HAPPINESS
- I was RECLAIMING ME, RECONNECTING WITH MY INNER POWER
If there is any learning in this, it is that ? yes, there will always be elements out of our control ? we can either give in to whatever challenge we face by listening to the Crowd and playing the disempowered victim. Or we can choose to find power through the challenge and decide to create the stage for our SOUL and HEART despite the difficulty.
The challenge remains. The one thing we always have choice over is our ATTITUDE.
